At a meeting of the Harbor Board yes terday it was stated that it would take £12,000 to complete tbe contracts now on hand, and that after paying the accounts passed at this meeting there would be only £4500 to the Board's credit, and when all existing contracts were paid off the Board would be £7500 in debt. It was therefore decided not to enter into any new contracts till authority was received from tbe people of the district to raise a loan. Up to tbe present tbe Board haa not borrowed a sixpence. During the past month the breakwater has been extended 45 feet, and an additional 300 feet of wharfage has just been finished.
