NOTABILIA. This evening at 6.30 two tea meetings will be held, one in Mr Stuart's warehouse at the Spit, in connection with the Port Ahuriri Presbyterian Church, and the other in the new Free Methodist school-room, Carlyle-street. There will be the usual addresses and music at the conclusion of the tea meeting in each instance. Messrs M. R. Miller and Potts will sell by auction at Kaikora to-morrow at 1 p.m., 50,000 feet mixed timber. 1 , The last call of 5s per share by shareholders in the Napier Recreation Ground Company will be due and payable at the office of Mr H. Monteith, the secretary, on Monday, 30th instant. Tenders for putting in concrete foundations in Hastings-street must be sent in to Mr T. R. Cooper not later than to-morrow. Tbe partnership existing between Messrs Cross and Smyth as commission agents has been dissolved, and all debts due by and all moneys owing to the late firm will be paid and received by Mr G. T. Cross alone, Mr F. Sutton, M.H.R., requests the electors of Hawke's Bay to meet him at the Town Hall, Hastings, on Monday evening next. Mr F. W. Williams has erected large wool stores adjoining the railway station at the Spit, and is prepared to receive and ship wool and produce to his own or grower's agents in London on favorable terms. Mr J. W. Craig, bookseller and stationer, Hastings-street, is in receipt of all kinds of Letts' diaries for 1883, and requests early application in order to secure special numbers. Messrs Monteith and Co. have several i first-class business sites in Hastings-street for sale on easy terms. Messrs Neal and Close are offering Dr. Warner's flexible hip corsets (full range of sizes) at half their usual value. Winners of cash prizes at tbe Agricultural and Pastoral Society's show are requested to call for them at the Society's office, Tenny-son-street, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Friday or Saturday. Messrs Blythe and Co. quote prices for shearing suits in navy blue American gambroon, and navy blue American drill overalls. A grey gelding has been impounded at Taradale, which, if not redeemed, will be sold on October 31. Mr W. E. Woods, pharmaceutical chemist, Napier and Hastings, informs the public that owing to increase in business, he has determined to reduce his scale of charges.
