The Victorian Amateur Turf Club held its second days , races at Caulfield today. The weather was fine, and there was an immense attendance of the public. CATJLFIELD CUP, One mile and half. Mr W. Branch's b c Little Jack by King Cole—Charade, 3 yrs ... 1 Mr J. R. Cowell's g m Verdure by Bethnal Green—Target, 5 yrs .. 2 Mr W. Forrester's blk h Gipsy Cooper by Barbarian—Gipsy Girl, 6 yrs 3 There were 31 starters, viz., Darebin, Commotion, Coriolanus, Lord Burghley, Napper Tandy, Santa Claus, Belladrum, Sardonyx, Baron Yon Mueller, Gipsy Cooper, Crystal, Gudarz, Odd Trick, Frying Pan, Wizard, (Paterson'e), Prattle, Little Jack, Dougalaton, The Queen, Cooreena, Mistake, Verdure, Tumuit, Mistaken, Colima, Anglesey, Colstoun, Brunette, Granyille, and Gardenia. The running was commenced by Verdure, who rushed to the front, followed by Tumult, Sardonyx and Frying Pan, until the Straight was reached, when Little Jack came with a rush and won by half a length ; Verdure, second ; Gipsy Cooper, third. Time, 2mins. 4£secß.
