Intelligence is to hand from Cairo that an English counsel has been denied access to Arabi by the Egyptian authorities. Sir E. Malet, the British ConsulGeneral, will therefore communicate with the Egyptian Government with a view to obtain permission for counsel to visit Arabi.
The murderers of Dr. Rebton and Signor Caltani during the outbreak in this city in June last were publicly hanged here thia morning. October 10. The embarkation of the British troops for England, and the Indian contingent for Bombay, is being rapidly proceeded with, and the transports are leaving daily for their destinations.
An inquiry has been opened here into the circumstances attending the outbreak of the massacre which occurred in this city in June last.
