The first meeting of creditors in the estate of H. J. Glazebrook, of West Clive, butcher, a bankrupt, will be holden at the Court House, Napier, on Monday at 2 p.m. Mr T. R. Cooper will receive tenders not later than Monday for the erection of a five-roomed residence on the hill near the hospital. The timber to be sold by Messrs Monteith and Co. on Tuesday nexfc includes a quantity of from 30 to 36 feet lengths in useful measurements. Nominations for the Hawke's Bay Guineas, to be run at the spring meeting of the Jockey Club, 1884, close with the secretary, Mr Luckie, at 8 p.m. on Tuesday next, at the Criterion Hotel. Four £l-notes have been lost, it is supposed in Hastings-street. Finder will receive £1 reward on leaving same st offbe of this paper. Mr W. A. Dngleby, architect, invites tenders (labor only) for the erection of a station cottage at Pohui for Messrs Donnelly and Sewell. The finder of a tame magpie, which is lost, will be rewarded on returning same to Miss Bogle, Stonebyres, Hastings. Messrs Lee and Sheath, solicitors, have sums of £2000, £1500, and £200 to lend at current rates on freehold security. A carrier pigeon, with message attached, liberated from steamer off Kidnappers, has been found, and owner can have same on paying expenses on application to Mrs E. Lean, Pukahu. Friends of the Temperance movement are invited to assist by joining the Shield of Health Lodge, Napier. This lodge enjoys the advantages of a good library, and a read-ing-room in connection therewith it is hoped to open shortly. Mr T. B. Harding, the secretary, will supply further particulars. Messrs Newton and Co. have on hand new goods for the spring season, besides general groceries, wines and spirits, and ales and stout. A gold brooch was lost between Hastings and Taradale on Thursday, and the finder of same will be rewarded on leaving it at the office of this paper. Messrs Blythe and Co. are clearing men's semi-hard felt hats at 2s Gd each to-day. Ham and eggs can be had at Yeuell's restaurant to-night if the oysters do not come. 1 lodized sarsaparilla, prepared only by W. E.
