ALEXANDRIA.
October 5. The customary ceremony connected with tbe departure of an extensive caravan of pilgrims for Mecca took place to-day at Cairo. A large body of British troops paraded for tbe occasion, and Sir Garnet Wolseley, the Duke of Connaught, and other officers were present. October 6. The British have evacuated Tantah and Daminhor, the Khedive's governors of those towns being confident of their ability to prevent any further outbreak or disturbance among the population.
