October 3. The first three heats for the rowing trophies offered by Mr Frank Punch were rowed to-day on the Paramatta river, and won by Laycock, Trickett, and Rush respectively. The contest will be continued on the sth and 7th instant. October 4. In the Legislative Assembly last night a resolution in favor of the removal of the duty on tea and the substitution of a tax on wheat and flour was negatived.
