(PER TAIAHOA AT AUCKLAND.)

Edgar Gillste, who was entrusted with the conveyance of £261 from Rewa to Levuka, ba9 disappeared. It is supposed that he has levanted to New Zealand. On the last trip of the Taiaroa from SnvatoLevufea, W. Peterson fell overboard and was drowned. Captain Watt, of the barquentine Redcoat, well known in New Zealand, has died at Suva. Town lots at Suva have been sold for £15 per foot. The Goodenough memorial clock tower at Levuka is completed. The captain of the Windward Ho, which arrived at Suva on the loth September, reports that the captain, owner, and four of the crew of the French cutter Porto Bella had been murdered at the Island of Santo, and the vessel pillaged. A French warship subsequently visited Santo, but the natives retreated to the bush. The cutter was manned by the cruizer and taken to New Caledonia.
