SYDNEY.

September 28

Sir Henry Parkes, the Premier, is much improved in health. He resumed his attendance at the House of Assembly to-day, and was greeted with cordial cheers from all sides of the House upon entering the Chamber. The Government are now pushing forward the various measures promised in the speech from the throne, and are endeavoring to accelerate the passage of the Land and Local Governments Bills in particular. The Hon. John Lackey, who recently resigned the portfolio as Minister of Public Works, has withdrawn his resignation. Two children were burned to death this morning at a house in Mary-street.
