O'Farrell, who attempted to assassinate Archbishop Gould by shooting him with a revolver on the 20ch ultimo, and who was committed for trial on the 2nd instant, was brought up at the Supreme Court to-day, and was found guilty on the charge of unlawfully woundicg, and sentenced to two years' imprisonment in the Melbourne gaol. September 21. The Government has called upon Dr. Barker to resign his appointment on the Victorian Medical Board. Dr. Barker has given a categorical denial to the statement that he attempted to procure an abortion in the case of the late Mrs Stent, and demands a full enquiry into the charge.
