LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
: Tuesday. ' Tbe Council resumed at 2.30 p.m. BILLS. The Property Tax Bill was read a third time and passed. The Life Assurance Policies Bill was formally read a first time with the understanding that it would go no further this year. Tbe conference on the District Railways Bill reported that it had come to an agreement. The Wellingten Cemeteries Bill was thrown out on its third reading by 14 to 4. The Education Reserves Act Amendment Bill and the Licensing Act Amendment Bill were passed through committee, read a third time, and passed. \l The Council waived its amendments in the Municipal Corporations Bill. The Appropriation Bill and the Public .Works Appropriation Bill were passed -through all their stages. PARLIAMENTARY BUILDINGS. • The resolution of the House of Repreeentatives ac to the custody of the Parliamentary buildings was agreed to. The Council rose at 5.30.
