Thursday. The House met at 2.30 p.m. •WELLINGTON LOAN BILL. The Wellington Corporation and Harbor Board Loan Bill was finally passed, the Council's amendments being accepted on a division of 35 to 24. The Treasurer, after some discussion, and a report from the House Committee reccommending an expenditure of £3000 in improving the ventilation and accommodation of the House, promised, at Mr Montgomery's suggestion, to bring down a vote of at least £10,000 for this purpose. QUESTIONS. Replying to questions, Ministers promised to deal with the question of Riparian Rights of Bill next session ; the Government would see what could be done to secure a more thorough revision of the electoral rolls; the Government could not promise capitation allowance to firemen; the Government would consider the revision of the entire railway tariff during the recess ; steps would be taken to procure copies of records and papers relating to tbe colony during the time it was under the control of New South Wales. BILLS TO BE PASSED. Replying to a question put by Mr Montgomery, Major Atkinson said the Government intended to go on this session with the following bills :—lnscribed Stock Loan, Roads and Bridges Construction, North Island Main Trunk Railway Loan, New Zealand Loan, Counties Act Amendment, Customs Duties Consolidation, Rabbit Nuisance, Sheep Act Amendment, District Railways Act Amendment, Rhodes Estate Duty, Education Districts, Amnesty Rangipo Murimutu Agreement Validation, Cemeteries, Greymouth Native Reserves, Registration of Births and Deaths Act Amendment, Licensing Act Amendment, Mining Company's, Registration Validation, and Educition Reserves Act Amendment. He hoped these and tbe other supplementary and public works estimates would be disposed of by Saturday, and they might even get some other bills through also. BILLS. _ The Amnesty Bill was read a second time, and the New Zealand Colonial Inscribed Stock Bill was passed through committee. The Roads and Bridges Construction Bill was, after protests against it by Mr Macandrew and Mr Hutchison, read a third time and passed on a division of 47 to 13. The New Zealand Loan Bill was recommitted, and the schedule altered by the £35,000 which had previously been struck out as for the Mararoa-Lumsden line being now allocated to the Lumsden, Mararoa, Gore, Kelso, Riversdale, Surveys, Seaward Bush, and Switzers lines £35,000. As amended the bill was reported, read a third time, and passed, after a protest from Mr Macandrew against foreign borrowing. The North Island Main Trunk Railway Loan Bill was also read a third time and passed, as also the Customs Duties Consolidated Bill. The following bills were passed through committee, reported as amended, read a third time, and passed :—Rabbit Nuisance, Sheep Act Amendment, Education Reserves Act ."Amendment, District Railways Act Amendment. The Licensing Act Amendment Bill was further considered in committee, but progress waa reported ou clause 4, and leave was obtained to sit again. Tbe New Zealand Colonial Inscribed Stock Bill was read a third time and passed. The Revenues Act Amendment Bill was received by message from the Governor, and was read a first time. The House rose at 1.20 a.m. until 2 p.m.
