ALEXANDRIA.

The Highland Regiments forming part of the second division embarked here to-day for Ismalia to reinforce the division now operating under Sir Garnet Wolseley. The following regiments comprise the Brigade: —First Battalion Royal Highlanders (42nd Regiment), Second Battalion Highland Light Infantry (74th Regiment), First Battalion Gordon Highlanders (7th Regiment), and First Battalion Cameron Highlanders (79th Regiment).

Lieut-General Sir Evelyn Wood has assumed the command of the garrißon in this city.

News is to hand that the enemy has commenced entrenching near Kassassin, the scene of the recent defeat by the forces operating under Sir Garnet "Wolseley.
