July 25. Jndge Ward decided at the Dietrict Court to-day in the caee of Dalgbisb v. Morton's typfiees, that; a |>iil oi aale
given three days before a declaration of insolvency was filed held good against the body of creditors. The decision has caused a wide-spread feeling of insecurity in commercial circles.
July 26. Some anxiety is felt about the safety of the brig Firefly, 174 tons, which sailed from the Bluff eight weeks since for Sydney, grain laden. She was commanded by Captain Downing, aud had four or five passengers.
