A LTERATION OF ADVERTISEMENT. NEW ZEALAND TELEGRAPH. Tenders aro invited for the Supply and Delivery of Seven Hundred and FifU (7oO) lelegiajih Posts (more or less), for the construction of a lino of Telrgraph between Cunbridge and Alexandra, both in the Province of Auckland The route of tho line -n ill bo from Cambridge to Douglas and Wnlker's Station , thenco acr»ss the Moanatuatua Swamp to B.ingiaohia ; thence to Kihikihi . thence to 'le Awamutu and thence by tho Lower or Puriu Uoad to Alexendra. The Posts to be sawn from tho heart of kauri, to be perfectly sound, Straight, and free from sap, loose knots, shakes, speckles, and all other defects. NB — Any Post containing the least sap will be rejected, and all posts laid on the line and aftorwarda found in any manner de f »ctive, or not in accordance with the specification, will be cut into two pieces by the Examining Ofhcer The Posts to be delivered along the lino at points to be indicated by an Olhcer appointed by the Go vernment. Tho major portion of the Posts to be twentv (20) feet in kngth , but some will be required twenty-live (25) feet long, to be laid at points as indicated I'ost3 of both the above lengths to be oight(8) inches square at the butt, and tapered to sn (0) inches square at the top The whole of the Posts to be delivered within three (3) calendar months of the date of acceptance of tender, under a penalty of five pounds (£5) to be paid for every working day the i'ontract ii not completed after that date. Tenders to state separately and distinctly the price per Poit according to the sizes given Each tender to be accompanied by a deposit of twenty pounds (£20 as a guarantee of good faith, which sum will be forfeited to the Government should any tenderer refuse to enter into or sign a contract in the event of Ins tender being accepted. Each tenderer must submit for approval the names of two (2) sureties -willing to enter into a bond for the due perfuimance of tlie contract in the event of his tender being act jpted, and earn of the persons so named must enclose a notification (with the tender) of their willingness to accept tho responsibility.
