On Satin duy evening, tho 8th instant, at 7 o'clock, a public ineoting was held in tho Wlmti 1'ulilio Hall. Tho object of tho mooting was to elect fivo duly qualified peraona to act at a School Coiumittoo for tho < urront ycai under tho I'Iduoational Act, 1S7-. Mr. Holbud was called to tho ohiur, and lead the notice in tho Otr.eflc convening tho mooting, and likowiao tho boundaries dolimng tho Whau Educational District. — Mr. Buchanan was appointed suorctary, who lead several clausos from tho Act boaiing upon tli" business of tho meeting. It was decided that tho voting should bo by show of hinds.— Mr. MeUiul then proposed thai tlio following gentleman form tho committee, vi/. : — MoHsri. J. Bollard, J. Buchanan, T. Sansom, W. Morria, and — Korsyth. A nuiubor of other names wcro also proposod by othna to bo added to tho list ho as to bo enabled to makoagood selection, but thoy ultimately withdrew, leaving tho couiao cloar for the h'rut fivo to go in unopposed, who woro theieforo unanimously olectnd. — A voto of thanks to tho chairman tcimmatcd tho ptocccdingH.— M; the closo of tho public meeting tho now committee reassembled, and appointed their chairman (Mr. J.
