THE SHAREMARKET.

Messrs. C. Arthur and Son held a sale of produce, &C, at their mart to-day. The following are the prices obtained :— Fowls, Is 9d to 3s 6d ; Spanish fowls, 4s 9d; clucks, 2a 4d to 2s 7d ; geese, 5s 3d ; turkeys, 4s to 5s 3d; onions, 3jd per Ib. ; potatoes, 5s 8.1 to 6s per cwfc. ; Hour, 14/. per ton ; Auckland bacon, 4^d to 7id per lb.; Wairoa cheese, 3}[d to sd ; hali-chosts tea, Is 9d per lb.

Mr. Martin Sholl reports as follows :—"Demand for leading shares rather dull. Buyers of Caledonian at 115/ ; Thames, 23/. ; Tookey, 211 10s. Sales of Bright Smile, at 605., numerous buyers ; holders asking advauced price 9. A small parcel of Shotovers changed hands at 1 Is, at which there are several buyers All Nations offered at 5/. 17s 6d ; Central Italy, 503. luquiries for Peep o'Day, Green Harp, Pacific, and Venus, Coroinandel." Mr. J. M. Lennox reports -.—"The sharemarket continues quiet. Caledonian and Thames stocks fully maintain yesterday's quotations. My saleq comprise— Caledonian, 1172. 10s to 115/.; Thames, 23/. 10s; Tokatea, 41. 15a." The marketsince lastreport hasfluctuated considerably, but the demand for Coromandel stock of all kinds is increasing. Tokatea s dividend will be 7s, with a balance in hand, and excellent specimens are being taken out from the stopes on the Coromandel side of the range. The paddocks are full of quartz. — The Bank of New Zealand (Tokatea) are now in 90ft.
