THAMES LADIES' BENEVOLENT SOCIETY.
The Thames Ladies' Benevolent Society held its first annual public meeting on Friday night. The attendance was as numerous as could be expected. The ladies who attended on the present occasion were Mesdames Minnis (chairwoman of the Society), Macdonald (Secretary), Heron, Pye, Shapter, and Puckey. Meadamea Lloyd and Carfcia, members of the bazaar Committee, were also in attendance. Amongst the gentlemen present were the Rev. J7 Hill (Presbyterian^ Rev. J. JJuUer ( Wesleyan), Rev S. Wilson (Baptist), Rev. Father Nivard, Drs. Fox and! Kilgour. The Rev. J. Hill occupied the chair. The report for the past year was then read by Mr. Bain, and also % statement of receipts and expenditure, from which it ap« pearedthat only £100 83. 6d. had been, received from all sources of income, and" kacl been expended all but st balance of £15 9&. lid. The following ladies were elected to be a WorHinj} Oi>mmitteB for the anauing year : — MesdauielsNinnis, Heron, Fox. Maedomld, Puuk.iy, iihaptrfr, Fo'Avtb* KilgouTj Pye.
