SOUTHERN TELEGRAMS. OPENING OF WELLINGTON PROVINCIAL COUNCIL. WELLINGTON.
November 28 : The Provincial Council was opened on Friday. The statement of the Provincial Treasurer showed that the revenue for the past eight moutha was 50 per cent, below estimate. The General Government had arrang td to provide for the maintenance of necessary departments until the return of Dr. Featheraton. To day, Mr. Bunny moved for the appointment of a financial committee, to consult with the General Government as to their providing for the payment of all arrears. The Executive resisted this motion, but it was carried by a majority of three.
