Flagship, Hape Creek.— A haul of magnificent specimens was made in tins claim yesterday 'afternoon, and a portion of the rich stone was exhibited to-day in Mr. Renshaw's window, Grahamstown. They are certainly the richest specimens I have yet seen from Hape Creek. The specimens are of hard blue stone full of sulphurets. Vale of Avoca.— This company cleaned up at the Star of the South machine to-day, preparatory to recommencing crushing at Weston's machine next week. 75 tons had been put through, and yielded 31oz. 2dwt. of gold. The stuff was taken from a heap which had been long lying by the side of the old leader and never was thought much. of. Ladybird and Hand of Friendship. — In consequence of scarcity of water only half • power could be applied during the past fortnight to crushing stone for this mine at the Flora Macdonald machine. The return is therefore proportionately light— 36oz. 3dwt. melted gold. Dixon'sNo.3.— 20oz.3dwt. of melted gold, the produce of about thirty tons, were banked to the account of this company to-day. Caledonian. - This company cleaned up finally at the Manukau machine yesterday, so as to be in readiness^to commence work at the Hauraki battery, now the property of the Caledonian Company. The return was only 4Coz. 7dwt. for about four days' run. Golden Cbown.— The usualjweekly cleaning up g&Te 4890z. sdwt. melted gold. Kukanui Company.— The fortnightly retarn from this mine exceeded by lOOoz. my estimate of yesterday— 6o3oz. melted gold was the quantity obtained. I may remark that this Urge parcel only lost lloz. in the melting, the weight of the retorted and amalgam being Glloz. Child of Fortune.— The 20 tons of stone from this claim, crushed at the Tramway machine, yielded 19oz. Sdwt. melted gold.
