Messrs Cheeseman, Hunter, »nd Co. report that at their horse sale last Saturday there was a good supply of horse stock, »nd a large attendance of buyers. Seyenteen horses sold at good prices ; two-year old colts, £21 and £25 10s.; yearling colts fetched from £6 2s. 6d. to £10 ; pony colts from £6 53 to £9 6a. ; riding horses from £14 ss. to £24 55.; unbroken mare and foal brought £31 ; horse and dray went for £41 ; light draught and saddle went privately for £28. At their cattle sale, at Newmarket, last Tuesday, there was a plentiful /show of cattle and sheep, which changed hands at advanced rates : — Thirteen cows sold at prices varying from £8 to £14 ; fat cattle realized from £11 to £12 ; for cows, from £10 to £18 7s. 6d. ; for two and three year old steers and bullock*, went at £U 2«. 6d , £15 10s. £17 5s , £18 17s. 6U, £19 2s. 6d.; and £22 12i. 6d.; 100 fat sheep and lambs went to the butcher, sheep at from 21s. 6d, to 42»., and lambs at lOi. 3d. and lls. Gd. each ; a lot of store sheep fetched 20b. each; a pair of working bullocks told for £25 10a.
