CHAIR OF RUSSIAN AT OXFORD
(Received February 23, 10.30 p.m.) LONDON, February 22. Oxford University has decided to establish a chair of Russian. There has not been a professor of Russian there for 20 years. The university refused to accept a gut of b/oks from the Madrid Higher Council for Scientific Research -which a Magdalen representative described as a “ruse by Franco’s Government to ingratiate itself with the British public.”
