News Broadcasts

Sir, —Frequently the war news broadcast by the New Zealand stations is not intelligible owing to poor reception. Many of us wonder why the news is not transcribed and read by the announcer at 2YA. The 8.8. C. follows this practice and tonight (Sunday) read a message which was received from Italy in an indistinct manner. The message related to the moving of New Zealand troops and was transcribed in London. We do hope the same procedure will be adopted at 2YA when overseas reception is bad.— We are, ctc.X SEVERAL LISTENERS. Gisborne, February 20.
