WAGE INCREASES SUBJECT TO TAXATION
It was authoritatively stated yesterday that the wage increases in individual eases to £5/5/- a week for adult males and £3 a week for adult females, which may be granted under the recent amendments to the Economic Stabilization Regulations, are intended to be gross amounts, that is. they are subject to the usual taxes. They are to include the two cost-of-living general orders made by the Court of Arbitration. The authority for the granting of the increases was created on the gazetting of the amendments,
