OBITUARY

Mr. Earl Wilton

Grandson of one of Wellington's earliest settlers and son of the iale Mr. Job Wilton, of Wilton's Rush, Wellington, Mr. Earl M illon, well-known in the Tokomaru district. died recently at the age of 78. Mr. Earl Wilton took up a bush property al Tokomaru from the Manawatu Railway Company in 18SG, developing it into a successful farm, on which lie lived till his death. He was for a number of years a director of the Tokomaru Dairy Company, and at one time was a member of the Tokomaru School Committee. In 1881 he married Miss Jane Elizahet h Heighten, who died 23 years ago. mid in 11121 ho married Mrs. Heine Wilton. In addition to his widow, he leaves five daughters and four sons, 29 grandchildren and 10 great-grand-children.
