The manager of the Chinese Soccer team, which was beaten in Newcastle, N.S.W., the other day, attributed the loss of that match to members of the team having to subsist on foreign food. He declared that the food they had to eat in Newcastle caused loss of weight. They regained weight when they got back to real Chinese food in Brisbane. The newly-elected ' member for Waitemata, Mrs. M. M. Dreaver, made her first appearance in the House of Representatives yesterday afternoon, when she was sworn in, and took a seat near that formerly occupied by her predecessor, the late Captain W. J. Lyon.
