BOY RESIDENTS HOLD DANCE
City Mission Event
Boys resident at the Millington City .Mission Hostel held a dance last week, which was an outstanding success. It was the first time a dance had been held in the new hostel, and it took place in the large gymnasium, more than 120 being present. Sister Bonner, matron of tlie hostel, was hostess, and special guests included Mrs. Squires, wife of the City Missioner; Mrs. Oxford, Mr. Armitage, assistant city missioner, and Mrs. Armitage. Mr. Squires was unable to be present. Also among the guests were a number of Red Cross V.A.D. girls, who acted as partners. All arrangements for the dance were made by the boys under the direction of their captain, Dudley Chapman, who had as a committee R. King, P. Stephens, and R. King, the latter acting as M.O. for the 'dance. Music was played by three volunteers, Miss P. Kelly and Messrs. Carl Karepa and 11. Ede.
The boys financed the dance by subscriptions among themselves, and a delicious supper was a feature of the event.
