The total number of British Imperial troops sent to France in lune, 1940, was 437,000, and the number sent to Norway was 23,800, the Financial Secretary of the War Office stated in the House of Commons.

The number who returned from France, including wounded who were brought away, was 348,000, and from Norway 22,600.

The number left in France as prisoners of war was 40,000. and in Norway 950.

[On the above figures the total number killed in the French and Norwegian campaigns was 13.250 men.]
