In aid of the Education Princess in ■the Victory Carnival, ATctoria College held a moving picture entertainment recently, when Air. Charles Plank presented films in colour of the United .States of America and Canada. Sir Thomas Hunter introduced Air. Plank who recently returned from America. At the conclusion of the evening Professor Lipson proposed the vote of thanks to Air. Plank and mentioned that the forthcoming public lectures on “Problems of the Pacific” were being given in aid of the Patriotic Fund. A savoury supper, provided by members and wives of the staff, was served. The sum of £lO was raised.
Plunket Society’s Work. Total visits paid to the Plunket Society’s rooms in Wellington and suburbs this year already amount to 40,000 adults with 40,000 babies or small children. Total visits paid by Plunket nurses to private homes to attend babies up to three months old, are 17,296. In view of its increasing work and the great necessity for it, more financial support is urgently needed by the society, and mothers are asked to help by entering their babies in the photographic competition which closes on May 15.
