NAZI RAIDER MAKES OFF
R.A.F. Fighter’s Attack
(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, January 20. Further details are available iu connexion with the Air Ministry announcement concerning the R.A.F. attack on an enemy aircraft, east of Aberdeen. A German Heinkel raider disappeared out to sea off Aberdeen with its undercarriage down, its speed slackening, and the rear gunner out of action. A patrolling R.A.F. lighter spotted traits of smoke in the sky. He searched for 15 minutes before sighting the Heinkel, which was flying south-east over the sea. He closed with the enemy, attacking from behind and above. The Hfcinkel made off into the clouds much the worse for the encounter.
