STATE THEATRE
A heroic story of the United States Coastguard Service, “Coast Guard, with Randolph Scott, Ralph Bellamy, and Walter Connolly in the leads, i« the mam feature at the State 'Theatre. The activities'of the service are clearly shown: Cutters patrolling the iceberg lanes of ■the North Atlantic or guarding seals from the depredations of 'poachers; aircraft winging over little-frequented shorelines; and great ambulance planes taking seriously injured men front shqtw at sea. The romantic interest is carried through by Frances Dee, grand-daughter of Connolly, a sea captain, and Scott and Bellamy, reckless pilot of. a com*. guard ambulance plane and officer in the service respectively. Brian Donlevy is a member of the State Attorney-Generars department in "Behind Prison Gates,” the other feature, and. in his efforts —eventually successful —to capture'bank robbers, has himself placed in prison. Jacqueline Wells is of no little assistance to bis schemes.
