NEW CONSTRUCTIO-N IN SWEDEN. A/B Gotaverken, Gothenburg, have launched the motor-tanker Fenja, which they ure building to the account of Dampskibsaklieselskapet Stokke, Oslo. She is 483 ft. 91n. in length by 59ft. beam, and lias a deadweight carrying capacity of 12,500 tons. Her propelling machinery wil, consist of a single-acting four-stroke Gotaverken-B. and W. Diesel engine ot 3100 i.h.p., designed to give a loaded speed of 13 knots. On the vacant berth the keel has beeu laid of a cargo motor-ship of 10,000 tons dw. for >Svenskn Oslasiatiska Kompaniet. Gotaverken have also coninleted the largest vessel so far built in Sweden. This is the motor-tanker Bera, 16,540 tons dw., constructed to the order of Rederiaktlebolagct Transmark. On trials, fullv loaded, the vessel attained a speed of 151 knots, which was one knot in excess of the contract speed.
