ARBOR DAY
Planting Ceremony In Wellington On Wednesday the annua! Arbor Day planting will take place in Wellington under the auspices of Coe Wellington Beautifying Society, the Wellington Education Board and rhe Wellington City Council. The ceremony will take place outside the Mount Cook School, oppo-.ite the carillon, at 2.30 p.m. The president of the Wellington Beautifying Society. Captain S. Holm, will preside, and addresses will he given by the mayor of Wellington, Mr. Hislop, and the chairman of the Wellington Education Board. Mr. W. V. Dyer. Trees will be planted by the mayor, the chairman of the education board, Sir 11. Batterbee, Mr. Fraser M.P., Mr. Parry. M.P., Mr. R. Semple. M.P.. Mrs. Knox Gilmer, Mrs. P. Fraser, rhe Go-vernor-General’s children, Miss I. Biggar, Mr. F. S. Pope (Institute of Horticulture), Mr. A. Leigh Hut:' (For estry League), Captain' Sanderson (Forest and Bird Protection Society), and by represent;)live scholar* from Wellington East Girls' College. Wellington Boys’ College, Technical College, St. Patrick’s College. St. Mark’s School, Mount Cook School (boy), and Mount Cook School (girl).
