Compton’s Double Century LONDON, July 28. Results of county cricket matches are:— Middlesex v. Derbyshire, at Lord s.— Derbyshire, 110 (Sims eight for 32) and 313 (Smith 96, Worthington not out 79). Middlesex, 447 for seven declared (Compton not out 214). Middlesex won by an innings and 24 runs. Glamorgan v. Leicestershire, at Swansea. —Leicestershire, 216 (Berry 76; Mercer seven for 67). Glamorgan, 120 for two. The match was abandoned owing to rain. Hampshire v. Gloucestershire, at, Bournemouth. — Gloucestershire, 212 (Crese five for 50) and 160 for seven, declared. Hampshire, 167 (Goddard seven for 77) and 162 (Goddard five for 65). Gloucestershire won by 43 runs.

Lancashire v. Northamptonshire, at. Blackpool. — Northamptonshire, 368 Timms S 3, Nelson not out 76; Phillipson five for 68). Lancashire, 19S for nine (Partridge seven for 49).
