ST. MARK'S SCHOOL CHILDREN'S PARTY

Sunshine flooding in the windows of St. Mark’s Church School, Wellington, and 150 children in party mood, gave the main classroom a festive air on Saturday afternoon. Many pupils and their friends gathered for the annual children’s party, organized by Mrs. A. Muir, in aid of St. Mark’s bazaar funds. With a willing 'band of helpers, Mrs. Muir kept the children amused with games, competitions and community singing. The. capable M.C. was Mr. G. Cowie, assisted by Miss J. Cowie, with Mr. N. Bryan as pianist. Valerie Jackman gave a humorous recitation. Not the least exciting part of the afternoon’s fun for the children was the tea, attractively laid out with sparkling fruit drinks at each place. Others who helped during the afternoon were Mrs. It. M. -Smith, Mrs. F. Beales, Mrs. F. Groves, Mrs. H. Wickens, Miss O. Dyer, Miss A. Wharton and Mr. A. Muir. Miss G. Holmes, the principal of St Mark’s, was unable to attend.
