WEDDING
Jones —Young The wedding was quietly celebrated at St. Andrew’s'' Church, Wellington, on Saturday, of Miss Patricia Young, formerly of Southland, and Judge Robert N. Jones, C.8.E., who recently retired from the position of Chief Judge of the Native Land Court. Miss Young wore a smart gown of fuchsia with blue accessories. Her attendants were three nieces, Miss Joyce Miller, New Plymouth, and the Misses Young, Palmerston North. Their future home is in Eastbourne. A successful dance and social evening, arranged by the school committee, was held in the Miramar South School in support of the “queen” for the carnival w'hich is being held to augment the school funds. During the evening the chairman, Mr. H. J. B. Tomlinson, introduced the “queen,” Miss Joyce Izett, who was given a great reception, and in response, to the chairman’s appeal, was promised full support, during the campaign. The music for the dancing was supplied by Mr. and Mrs. McGrath and extras were supplied by Mrs. A. Gray and Mr. L. McGregor. The monte carlo was won by Miss Souter and partner. It was announced that a picture evening and also a grand carnival dance had been arranged for •arly in August . The ladies’ committee, comprising Mesdames 11. Tomlinson, L. W. Drager, W. Newdlck, E. Familton, L. McGregor, R. Taylor, D. Singer, and LI. Garbett, served supper.
