WHITE ANT ATTACKS
Aid In Eradication Possible An indication Unit the reported attack on timber in houses and other buildings by white ants was being fully investigated was given by the AetiilgUoinmissioner of State Forests, Mr Armstrong, when replying to a question of Mr. Osborne (Government, Oneliunga), in the House of Kepresenta fives yesterday. “If the result should indicate that the position is as serious as reported, and it is necessary to assist homeowners in the eradication of this pest, the Government will give sympathetic consideration to this possibility,” the Minister added.
A statement that the question of financial assistance for Centennial gatherings of hoy scouts and girl guides was receiving the consideration of the Government, was made by the Minister of internal Affairs, Mt. Parry, in a reply in the House of Representa lives to a question asked by Mr. Roy (Opposition, Clutha).
