Use Of Land In Wairarapa Suggested ' A suggestion that land in the Wairarapa, specially around Greytown, might be used for market gardens in view of the protests by the Kuku settiers against the proposed use of their pto perties for that mirpose, was made by Mr. Roberts (Opposition, Wairarapa), in a question asked iu the House of lie presentatives. The Prime Minister, Mr Savage, replied that the desire of Mr Roberts to assist ttie Government in connexion with the Hutt Valley development scheme was appreciated. ' His repiesentations would receive very caret’ll, consideration. Replying to a suggestion by Mr Meachen (Government, Marlborough) that land in the Blenheim district might he acquired for closer settlement and the production of vegetables, the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Lee Martin, stiid the Dominion Land Purchase Board would consider on its merits the offer of any property for siieli a purpose.
