Petone To Play Hospital Today
A match having an important bearing on the Wellington Soccer football championship is set down for play on the Basin Reserve, Wellington, today, between Hospital, and Petone. Petone are leading for the honours, and Hospital will make a strong bid to'lower their colours. The first game between these (earns this season resulted in a draw, one goal each. Hospital have come into prominence in recent games, having won in convincing manner. Two weeks ago they beat Waterside, the Wellington Chatham Cup winners, decisively by 2 goals to nil. Hospital and Petone play n similar type of football, _ and all the players are seasoned campaigners. Leslie, who will lead the Petone vanguard, will be watched with interest after his inspiring game played for Wellington against Auckland a fortnight ago. . The Lesli e-Woods-Craig combination will be pitted against n strong defence in Jeffrey, Todd and Wyatt. . On the No. 2 ground of the Basin Reserve, Waterside will play Diamond, The form of 'Waterside will be watched with interest in view of their engagement against Ponsonby in the North Island final for the Chatham Cup, in Auckland, next Saturday.
