FRENCH TOAST
Take 6 slices stale bread, 1 cup milk. 1 teaspoon salt, 2 eggs, slightly beaten, 2 tablespoons fat Mix together egj>, salt, and milk in a deep plate or bowl; dip bread into mixture and saute in butter or bacon fat in a frying-pan, turning to brown both sides, add more fat if necessary to keep slices from sticking. Or fry in hot, deep fat for one to two minutes or till browned.
