“The Saint Strikes Back” And
“I’m From The City” “The Saint,” or Simon Templar, a smiling,‘deadly killer, carries on a oneman campaign against gangsters in “The Saint Strikes Back,” the main feature at the State Theatre. Unlike law enforcement agencies, “The Saint” is .'m outlaw himself, fights murder with murder, and steals the ill-gotten gains of other criminals. It is “The Saint’s” ruthless crusade against the mysterious leader of a crime ring in a large city, with which “The Saint Strikes Back” deals primarily. Becoming interested in the plight of a beautiful girl whose father has been victimized by the underworld overlord, “The Saint.” cooperates with the police in bringing the criminal to justice. The hilarious efforts of Joe Penner to avoid entering an important horse race because of an unusufil complex—he can ride only when hypnotized—and Richard Lane’s clever scheme to pass off Penner as the long-lost son of n wealthy rancher, add complications to the plot of "I’m From The City,” the other feature.
