NEGOTIATIONS IN MOSCOW
Question Of Military Talks (British Official Wireless.) * RUGBY, July 26. The Prime Minister stated in the House of Commons that fresh instructions were sent last night to the British Ambassador in Moscow, Sir William Seeds, and that he hoped to be in a position to make a statement in the House of Commons early next week. Asked whether it was true, as stated In the Press, that it had been agreed that military and naval talks should take place in Moscow, Mr. Chamberlain replied: “We have sent certain instructions to Sir William Seeds, but we have not yet heard of the reactions.” Asked if the French Government was sending a military mission to Moscow, he replied: “I have stated before that France and Britain are acting in close collaboration.” IMMINENT PACT British Press View (Independent Cable Service.) LONDON, July 26. All the morning newspapers carry full reports of forthcoming Staff talks between Britain and the Soviet Union and the imminent signature of a pact between Britain, the Soviet, and France.
