Mr. J. S. Barton, who has been visiting Auckland, returned to Wellington by the Limited express yesterday. Mr. W. J. Campbell, chairman of the Auckland Education Board, arrived at Wellington by the Limited express yesterday morning. Mr. W. A. Hislop, general manager of Universal Pictures, who has been visiting Auckland to welcome Mr. Adolph Zukor, returned to Wellington yesterday. Professor W. A. Sewell arived at Wellington by the Limited express from Auckland yesterday to attend a meeting of the councils of the four university colleges in New Zealand. Wing Commander A. de T. Nevill, Air Force Member for Supply, who has been visiting the South Island, returned to Wellington by the steamer express yesterday morning. Mr. J. D. Johnston, a final-year theological student, has been accepted by the mission committee of the Presbyterian Church for service in China, and will probably leave for that field next year. Mr. B. Vinsen, general manager of Columbia Pictures Pt.y, Ltd., in New Zealand left by car today for Auckland to meet Mr. Cecil Mason, manager for Australia and New Zealand, who will arrive there from Sydney today. Mr. W. J. Ileslehurst, tour director and organizer, was a passenger by the Limited express to Auckland last night and will leave for New South Wales and Queensland with a party of tourists iu the Awatea on Monday. Mr. G. H. Mack-ley, General Manager of Railways, accompanied by his secretary, Mr. W. J. Munro, Mr. A. W. Wei Is ted, commercial manager, and Mr. G. G. Stewart, publicity manager, left Wellington for the South Island last night by the steamer express. The Rev. Dr. 1“. .McCabe, who accompanied the Apostolic Delegate to Australia and New Zealand, Archbishop J. Panico, on his visit to New Zealand for the Catholic centenary celebrations last year, has been appointed secretary of the Apostolic delegation in Sydney. He succeeds .Monsignor ,1. F. Giles, who has been appointed rector of St. Columba’s College, Springwood, the junior seminary of New South Wales.
