MAN’S SUDDEN DEATH
Believed To Have Choked On Potato Chip
Mr. Ray Marshall, married, a motor mechanic, aged about 43, and living at 155 Ghuznee Street, who collapsed and died after suddenly leaving a Wellington restaurant early yesterday morning, is believed to have been choked by a potato chip wedged in big throat. Shortly after midnight Mr. Marshall, accompanied by two companions, went io a restaurant in Wakefield Street for supper. Mr. Marshall, who was ordinarily a man in a good state of health, ordered a meal which included potato chips. When he was in the middle of the meal he became convulsed and attempted to rush out to the street. At the door of the restaurant he collapsed and died. Doctors later discovered that a potato chip was wedged in his throat, and it is concluded that this was the cause of his death.
