MARINE ENGINEERS’ INSTITUTE
Election Of Officers The annual meeting of the Welliugwu branch of the Marine Engineers’ Institute was held on Wednesday night in the Institute Hall, Aitken Street, there being over forty members present. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as fellows: —-President, Mr. E. E. Low; treasurer, Mr. F. O. Moarth ; vicepresidents, Mr. A. G. Wilson, Mr. T. Magill, and Mr, L. Hall; councillors, Mr. G. N. Bell, Mr. H. McDougall, Mr. 11. Rix-Trott, Mr. R. M. Moffat, Mr. W. Burgess. Mr. A. Brown, and Mr. A. Tough. The report of the secretary for the year ended June 30, dealt comprehensively with the work of the branch during the year, touching upon many phases of its activities, and stressing the good work of the committee.
The balance-sheet for the period showed the finances of the institute to be in a particularly sound position, all funds showing increases. Messrs Clark, Menzies, Griffin and Co., were re-elected auditors for a further period of one year.
