Offerings at the wool sales today were 7473 bales, including 4265 bales New Zealand wool, (k>s< bales being sold. A rather poor selection met with a less active demand. . Home trade principal operators, especially for crosslbred. Good support from Continent for greasy merino. Continental and Bradford buyers were the chief operators. The selection of wools was good; 98,500 balea were offered for the series and 83,000 sold. _ We quote the following average realizations: Greasy merino, 60/64, yielding 48 per cent., . Compared with last London sale’s _closiug rates, greasy merino advanced 7i per eent.': scoured merino advanced 5 per eent.; crossbred greasy tine advanced 57i per cent.; crossbred greasy medium and coarse advanced 15 per cent.; crossbred scoured and slipe crossbred advanced ~i per cent. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd.—The fourth series of sales closed firm today ; 98,400 bales were offered, of which 84,000 bales were sold. Yorkshire were the chief buyers, their purchases totalling 60,000 bales. Prices as compared with the preceding series were as follows: —Merino : Lambs, par to id. a lb. higher; super greasy, Id. a lb. higher; average greasy, id. to Jd. a lb. higher: inferior greasy, Jd. a lb. higher.
