A PUKERUA BAY FAREWELL
There was a large and representative gathering of residents and friends from other districts at Pukerua Bay on Wednesday evening to bid farewell to one of the oldest families resident In the Bay, namely Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Adams, on the occasion of their transfer to Auckland.
On behalf of the Plunket Society, Mrs. Gray made a presentation to Mrs. Adams in a happily worded speech, and Mr. Stuart Cowie presented other gifts to Mr. and Mrs. Adams from the community and friends which betokened the esteem in which the guests of the evening were held. Associated with Mr. Cowie, were Mr. C. Gray and Mr. A. K. Lindsay. In returning thanks on behalf of Mrs. Adams and himself Mr. Adams, who Is proceeding on promotion in the Stores Division of the Post and Telegraph Department expressed regret at , his departure from the Bay and paid • a tribute to the line work Mr. and I Mrs. Gray had always done in promoting tlie social am] general welfare of the district. A most enjoyable evening concluded with a hearty vote or thanks to .Mr. and Mrs. Cowie, the principal organizers of the party.
