PROHIBITED ITALIAN IMMIGRANT

A prohibited Italian immigrant, Genaro Valenzi, 44, who was arrested in Helensville yesterday, appeared in the Magistrates’ Court today charged with landing in New Zealand without & permit. Through an interpreter, Valenzi said that he had been misled in Sydney as to what to do to land in New Zealand. The Collector of Customs said that Valenzi, on arrival, made it clear that he had come to reside. For ten years he had lived in Townsville. Queensland, and he did not like that climate. The magistrate made an order for his deportation. Valenzi is to 'be kept in prison till placed on the next available ship to Sydney.
