STOCKS AND SHARES
Wellington Market Quiet
PRICES LITTLE CHANGED
Little change was seen yesterday in the Wellington stock and share market, which remained quietly steady. Business was inactive and the turnover was restricted. There was a fairly good inquiry for Gov-« ernment stocks, bur. trading was confined to 113000 worth of 4 per cent stock. at the unchanged price ot £Jb/12/6, and £250 of 4 per cent., 1940, at £o</12/6. Banks were very dull, the only feature of this section being a further rise in New Zealands, which sold to 41/14, an advance of 44<1. Finance and insurance shares attracted little attention. Industrials were quiet and prices showed little movement. Three lots of Weilington Gas went unchanged at 29/-. Leading Australians were inelined to ease a little.
