Annual Public Service Contest „ f GAMES IN WELLINGTON The twenty-third annual tournament of the Publie Service, Bowling Association began yesterday on the Hataitai, Thorndon, Kelburn, and Khandallah greens. Fourteen fours played at Hataitai and 12 on the other three. The president of (he association, Mr. W. .1. Gilbert, was at the Thorndon green and the secretary, Mr. W. R. Jourdain, at. the Hataitai green, which was the headquarters. The four green-winners will meet in the final on the Hataitai green, starting at 1.30 p.m. on Monday. Two sections were played on each green and the section-winners played off to select the green-winners. The following are the results of the mutches to select the green-winners, skips’ names only being given :— Hataitai green: P. Skoglund (Treasury Department) beat A. T. Emerson (Railways Department), 9-7. Thorndon green: A. Tough (Mental Hospitals Department) beat S. Wright (Railways Department), 13-5. Kelburn green: A. J. Wicks (Lands Department) beat E. Walker (Agriculture Department), 11.4. Khandallah green: G. W. Hughes (Mental Hospitals Department) beat D. Hunta (Railways Department), 12-7. The section play resulted as follows: — Section A (Hataitai) : G. P. Anderson, five losses; A. W; Smith, three losses two wins; A. E. Emerson, four wins, one loss; J. Porteous, three wins, two losses; C. G. Riggs, one win, four losses; J. Tamblyn, four wins, one loss; P. J. Wright, three losses, two wins. Section B (Hataitai) : E.
